Director Jose Luciano O. Tamayo is a lawyer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Perpetual Help System–Laguna.
As one of the third-generation Tamayos, he has been deeply immersed in the Bank’s operations since 2014, when he joined as a Management Trainee and subsequently assumed various roles across the organization. This progressive, hands-on exposure to the Bank’s core functions has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of its operations, governance structure, risk environment, and regulatory obligations.
He currently serves concurrently as Assistant Chief Legal Officer, Security Officer, and Data Privacy Officer, further strengthening his expertise in legal, compliance, operational risk, data privacy, and security.
This breadth of experience and institutional immersion equips him with a strong understanding of the Bank’s business dynamics and governance priorities, enabling him to meaningfully contribute to the formulation and execution of its strategic directions, particularly in areas involving risk management, regulatory compliance, and organizational resilience.
